City Social: Michelin Star Dining with Panoramic Views

In the heart of the city, sitting on the 24th floor and gazing upon at the glorious views of the London skyline, is the iconic City Social. Situated in the skyscrapers between Bank and Liverpool Street and boasting an all new contemporary British menu this Michelin star awarded restaurant and bar is absolutely the place to be.

This season, City Social has reopened its doors for lunching, dining and drinking. The new menu, expertly curated by Jason Atherton for the perfect dining experience, has taken this already exceptional 24th floor restaurant to new levels.

City Social is the only Michelin starred restaurant in the city offering the panoramic views across London. Breathtaking and reaching sights by day and spectacular by night, City Social is the ultimate sophisticated spot to wine, dine and socialise in style.

Whilst being face to face with the dazzling views of the Gherkin and the Shard, enjoy tasting the fresh dishes, beginning with tastefully curated starters such as Orkney scallops, carpaccio with crudités, citrus and ponzu alongside Dexter beef tartar with sesame, miso crème fraiche, maitake and mooli and Roasted Norfolk quail with cauliflower, giroles and res el hanout.

On top of hitting the nail on the head with dishes that excite, pleasure and tantalise, the new menu excel’s in celebrating the best of freshly grown British produce. From the pasta menu diners can enjoy the glorious Lamb neck ravioli, tomato jam, pecorino, consommé matched with the perfect wine, carefully selected by the expert team. Another delightful option from the pasta menu is the Warm fruits of the sea linguini, pimiento and shellfish bisque.

If you’d prefer to save wine for the main event, a great option for starting off the meal is a cocktail. Nothing feels more luxurious than gazing at the London skyline and sipping a MY-PHI. This well balanced cocktail serves sweet and rich flavours from the Bacardi white rum, Wray & Nephew overproof rum, pineapple liqueur, orange oleo saccharum, citrus, fruit jelly.

For the main dish, Roast Cornish turbot with young leeks, asparagus, Romanesque, watercress velouté, Isla of Gigha Halibut, coco beans, razor clam, confit lemon is a truly gorgeous choice.

Herdwick lamb, confit belly, courgette, tomato and olive make a “shepherds pie” that blows the name out of the water.

An unmissable event at City Social are the premium steak options from The Josper Grill. Served alongside a perfect wine, the porterhouse steak is a beautiful menu highlight. On top of this there are a range of splendid sides that compliment the ravishing steaks served here.

City social has glamorous 1920’s style furnishing and guests are invited to work and host meetings in this stylish establishment with floor to ceiling views of the city.

Social 24 is the sophisticated bar situated within City Social, also on the 24th floor of Tower 42. This plush establishment features a choice cocktail menu alongside an extensive range of spirits. The Freaking Grape is a freaking fabulous cocktail made from Belvedere vodka, V. Gallery grape vodka, Ratafia cherry liqueur, Edinburgh mandarin & orange blossom liqueur, egg white, citrus.

Eterno Amore is another highlight of the cocktail menu, made from Panarea Island Gin infused with lavender, italicus, clarified grapefruit juice it both tantalises and refreshes the pallet. There are also plenty of innovative non alcoholic options for those working. For the likes of meetings and working, the private dining room and Chef’s table are available to book for additional privacy.
