Watches and Wonders 2025: Chanel’s Latest Masterpieces

At CHANEL, time is never just measured it is styled, sculpted, and reimagined. For 2025, the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio unveils a collection where craftsmanship meets couture, and every watch becomes a statement.

From architectural silhouettes to chromatic storytelling, this is horology as only CHANEL can conceive it precise, poetic, and unapologetically modern.

CHANEL | Necklace Watch Coco Black Jacket

A silhouette forever etched into the fashion canon, Gabrielle Chanel in her iconic little black suit and jaunty boater re-emerges in 2025 not as memory, but as muse. Chanel’s latest horological creation, the Necklace Watch COCO BLACK JACKET, captures this image not merely as a reference, but as a living emblem of bold femininity, creative freedom, and effortless elegance.

Mademoiselle designed for the woman she was a free-spirited, instinct-led, immune to the whims of trend. Her vision: clothes that empowered without constraint, combining structure with suppleness, beauty with purpose. The “little suit” remains a masterclass in this philosophy: tailored yet liberating.

Now, Chanel distills that spirit into a timepiece as wearable as it is wondrous. Sculpted in black lacquer and set with diamonds, the necklace features Gabrielle herself, rendered in miniature, clad in her signature suit and crowned with a diamond-ribboned boater. Suspended from a white gold chain punctuated by onyx pearls and brilliant-cut diamonds, the piece is a monochrome reverie—a tribute to Chanel’s enduring belief in the power of black and white, opposites in perfect harmony.

CHANEL | J12 BLEU

To mark a quarter-century of horological reinvention, CHANEL introduces a new icon: the J12 BLEU. For the first time, the Maison’s most emblematic timepiece is cloaked in an exclusive blue matte ceramic, a hue as enigmatic as it is exacting. Twenty-five years after the original J12 rewrote the codes of modern watchmaking, first in black (2000), then in white (2003), CHANEL unveils a colour that blurs the boundary between shade and substance.

This is not just blue, it is CHANEL blue. A blue born from five years of meticulous research and artisanal precision at the CHANEL Watch Manufacture. At once deep and matte, almost black in its intensity, the hue shifts subtly with the light, revealing layers of elegance that feel both familiar and profoundly new.

Crafted in scratch proof, high-resistance ceramic, elevated by CHANEL into a precious material over decades, the J12 BLEU collection includes nine singular creations, some punctuated with vivid blue sapphires. Each model is a study in contrasts: radiance and discretion, innovation and legacy, precision and poetry.

CHANEL | PREMIÈRE GALON

With the unveiling of PREMIÈRE GALON, CHANEL reimagines not just a timepiece—but the very way we wear time. Infused with the spirit of couture and the legacy of the Maison’s first horological creation, PREMIÈRE steps boldly into 2025, braided in gold and history.

Launched in 1987, the original PREMIÈRE broke convention. It borrowed nothing from traditional masculine watchmaking, instead proposing something wholly new: the soft geometry of an octagon—echoing the N°5 bottle stopper—and a bracelet inspired by the leather-laced chain of CHANEL’s quilted bag. It was a watch born not of function alone, but of form, feeling, and freedom. It remains, to this day, a benchmark of feminine design.

Now, the PREMIÈRE GALON introduces a fresh silhouette and a new signature. Inspired by the galon—the iconic braid that Gabrielle Chanel used to structure and elevate her suits—the timepiece becomes a tribute to the art of adornment. Twisted, sculptural, fluid: the 18-carat yellow gold bangle wraps the wrist like a ribbon of couture memory. The dial, pared back to its black-lacquered essence, needs no numerals its presence speaks for itself.

CHANEL | BLUSH WATCH CAPSULE COLLECTION

In 2025, CHANEL turns its gaze inward toward the intimate realm of beauty, the mirror-lined world that Gabrielle Chanel herself redefined a century ago. With the Blush Watch Capsule Collection, the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio infuses its timepieces with the pulse of pigment, the poetry of powders, the radiance of color. The result is a vivid tribute to the Maison’s most sensorial universe where the art of cosmetics becomes the soul of contemporary watchmaking.

Gabrielle Chanel was never content with convention. In the 1920s, she shattered fragrance with N°5 and sculpted a minimalist makeup line that rejected ornamental excess in favor of chromatic clarity. Her beauty creations sleek, black-lacquered compacts filled with silken powders and carmine reds—revealed colour by restraining it. That philosophy of less to illuminate more echoes through this new horological collection.

This visual dialogue becomes the heartbeat of the Blush Capsule Collection—a chromatic crescendo that threads through CHANEL’s watchmaking icons, from the J12 to the Première. Pigment becomes a medium of memory. Shades of blush and rouge are dusted, dripped, pressed, and painted onto dials like living canvases. Each timepiece draws from the language of Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism, reinterpreted through the savoir-faire of haute horlogerie.

Grand Feu enamel, miniature painting, gold sculpting, pad printing every métier d’art technique is called upon to bring colour to life. The watches don’t just wear colour they embody it. And in doing so, they elevate the tools of beauty brushes, compacts, pigments to objets d’art worthy of time’s most elegant canvas.

CHANEL | PREMIÈRE ICONIC CHAIN

In 2025, the PREMIÈRE watch writes a new chapter, one that loops around the wrist, drapes along the collarbone, and redefines the art of wearing time. With two daring new interpretations, CHANEL invites us to experience its inaugural timepiece not just as a watch, but as an extension of personal style, movement, and mood.

Since its debut in 1987, the PREMIÈRE has existed outside of horological conventions. It introduced time through the lens of the Maison’s most iconic forms: the octagonal case drawn from the N°5 bottle stopper, and a bracelet interlaced with leather a nod to the chain strap of CHANEL’s quilted handbag.

Now, the PREMIÈRE ICONIC CHAIN evolves once more. The first creation a bracelet that wraps twice around the wrist blurs the line between jewellery and timepiece. With its black lacquered dial and golden accents, it rests on the skin with a sensual, almost insolent elegance.

The second, bolder still, transforms the watch into a necklace. The double row chain reinterprets Gabrielle Chanel’s reverence for adornment: the clasp—a sleek, graphic expression of the PREMIÈRE case becomes a pendant in motion. Draped, layered, worn as one pleases, it embodies the spirit of CHANEL’s founding ethos: freedom above all.

CHANEL | J12 CALIBER 12.2 – 33 MM

A modern icon since its debut in 2000, the J12 has never played by the rules. Born of bold materiality and avant-garde design, it redefined what a watch could be; graphic, sculptural, uncompromisingly feminine. Now, in 2025, CHANEL unveils a new chapter: the J12 CALIBER 12.2 – 33 MM, reimagined in yellow gold, ceramic, and diamonds.

The timepiece is offered in radiant black or luminous white. Its signature ceramic body remains resilient and refined, while the dial gleams with baguette cut diamond hour markers. For the first time, the bracelet is sculpted in polished yellow gold, a nod to timeless opulence, elevated through the lens of modernity. The bezel, ringed with a baguette motif sapphire in matching monochrome, offers a play of light and geometry subtle, architectural, unmistakably CHANEL.

At the heart of this refined 33 mm silhouette lies the Caliber 12.2, a miniature mechanical marvel designed in Paris by Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio, and assembled with exacting care at the CHANEL Watch Manufacture in Switzerland.

This self-winding movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case back, is finished with an oscillating weight in yellow gold a perfect circle, and a perfect symbol. Certified by COSC and boasting a 50-hour power reserve, the Caliber 12.2 is as rigorous in its performance as it is poetic in its design.

CHANEL | J12 RIVER DIAMONDS

In the lexicon of CHANEL watchmaking, the J12 is a symbol of modernity carved in ceramic and soul.In 2025, the Maison’s Creation Studio introduces a new expression: the J12 RIVER DIAMONDS, a luminous ode to the enduring allure of diamonds and the couture precision of CHANEL’s métiers d’art.

The J12 RIVER 38 MM BAGUETTE-CUT DIAMONDS is a sculpture in motion—its form defined by 630 hand-set baguette diamonds, a feat requiring 148 hours of meticulous artistry at the CHANEL Watch Manufacture. Even the oscillating mass of the Caliber 12.1, visible through the caseback, is set with 52 diamonds, proof that every element—seen or unseen—deserves brilliance.

The more intimate J12 RIVER 33 MM BRILLIANT-CUT DIAMONDS pushes the art of pavé to its apex: 1,661 brilliant-cut diamonds, each with 58 flawless facets, envelop the watch in a continuous shimmer. The Caliber 12.2, revealed through sapphire crystal, is adorned with 32 diamonds on its rotor—a hidden treasure pulsing with elegance.

CHANEL | MONSIEUR SUPERLEGGERA BLEU EDITION

In 2025, CHANEL accelerates the evolution of men’s watchmaking with a bold, enigmatic turn: the Monsieur Superleggera Bleu Edition. This new expression folds performance into poise, bringing together the sharp geometry of racing heritage with the refined codes of CHANEL’s masculine horology. At its heart, a singular tone: CHANEL blue—a color that defies definition, suspended between ink and night.

Neither fully black nor fully blue, the matte ceramic hue required five years of research to perfect—a technical feat that speaks to the House’s uncompromising pursuit of nuance. The result is a shade charged with tension, mystery, and masculine restraint executed in ceramic and steel, engineered for elegance and endurance.

Inside, the Caliber 1 beats with minimalist precision. Designed, developed, and assembled entirely by CHANEL, the in-house movement translates motor sport instrumentation into timekeeping poetry: instantaneous jumping hours and a 240° retrograde minutes display, echoing the arcs of classic speedometers. This is not a watch for nostalgia, but for momentum.

In this year’s collection, CHANEL proves once again that time is more than a mechanism—it’s a medium. Whether wrapped in gold, painted with blush, or draped across the body like a jewel, each creation moves beyond utility into pure expression. Time, here, becomes a language. And CHANEL speaks it fluently.
