The Perfect Weekend Starts with Brunch at Riding House Café

When it comes to London’s brunch scene, Riding House Café continues to prove why it’s remained a favourite for over a decade. With an all-day menu that balances comforting classics with inventive seasonal dishes, it’s the kind of place that works just as well for a leisurely weekend catch-up as it does for a spontaneous breakfast date.

We kicked things off with two refreshing drinks. The Green Juice was light and bright, blending spinach, apple, pineapple and coconut water into a crisp, revitalising start. Alongside it, the Berry Smoothie combined strawberries, raspberries, pineapple, banana, dates and coconut milk into a thick, fruit-packed blend with just the right touch of sweetness.

The wider brunch menu offers something for every appetite, from the hearty Full & Proper Breakfast, complete with smoked streaky Dingley Dell bacon, Old Spot sausage and all the traditional trimmings, to lighter options such as the colourful açai bowl with Greek yoghurt, fresh berries, banana and chia seeds. Seafood lovers are equally well catered for with the hot-smoked salmon Royale, featuring poached eggs, burnt lemon hollandaise and bottarga. It’s a menu that strikes a balance between comforting brunch classics and more refined, contemporary dishes.

For brunch, the smashed avocado on sourdough showcased how simple ingredients can shine when they’re done well. Served on perfectly toasted sourdough, the avocado was generously layered and well-seasoned, making for a fresh, satisfying plate that never felt heavy.

The standout dish, however, was undoubtedly the truffle chilli fried eggs. The combination of truffle and chilli worked effortlessly together, creating a dish full of flavour. The truffle added depth, while the chilli brought just enough heat to keep every mouthful interesting.

While Riding House Café has introduced a number of new additions to its menus across its London locations, the overall approach remains the same: bold flavours, quality ingredients and dishes designed to suit everything from relaxed brunches to long Sunday lunches. The cafés continue to evolve with creative seasonal plates while keeping the signature atmosphere and dishes that have made them such a staple of the capital’s dining scene.

Whether you’re stopping in for a nutrient-packed juice, a leisurely brunch or simply catching up over coffee and tea, Riding House Café delivers a consistently enjoyable experience. We rounded off our meal with freshly brewed coffees and teas, the perfect way to wind down after brunch and a reminder that this is just as much a destination for a relaxed afternoon catch-up as it is for a weekend feast. Stylish without being pretentious and creative without overcomplicating things, it’s easy to see why Riding House Café continues to hold its place among London’s favourite all-day dining spots.
