A Taste of the Amazon: Amazónico London’s Immersive Tributary Cocktail Collection

Descending into the lush, immersive world of Amazónico London is like stepping through a portal—away from Mayfair’s polished streets and into a sultry rainforest dream. Jungle foliage cascades from the ceiling, tribal rhythms pulse in the background, and the scent of spice and citrus lingers in the air. But it’s when the cocktails arrive that the real journey begins.

The restaurant’s new River Tributary Cocktail Collection isn’t just a drinks menu—it’s a sensory voyage through the veins of the Amazon. Each cocktail is named after one of the region’s significant rivers, inspired by its landscape, culture, and spirit. More than just beautifully crafted drinks, these are stories served in glass—or, in some cases, stone, pineapple, or even a macaw-shaped vessel.

Take Ica, for example. This smoky yet refreshing blend of The Lost Explorer Espadín and Tobalá mezcal, chicha morada, pineapple, and Peruvian spices is served in rustic carved stoneware. It channels jungle bonfires and ancestral rituals—earthy, mysterious, and utterly transportive.

Then there’s Tigre, a tropical showstopper concealed inside a real pineapple, its carved ridges and vibrant garnish nodding to the river’s two-toned waters. A Brazilian take on the Piña Colada, it fuses Santiago de Cuba 11 & 20 Rum with passion fruit, Batida de Coco, lime, and toasted Brazilian nuts. One sip, and you’re reclining in a hammock on a remote riverbank in Loreto.

The Napo cocktail arrives with grace in a golden, wave-shaped vessel carrying a delicate seashell. Made with Cîroc vodka, Aperol, prickly pear, melon, and Champagne, it’s a rainforest spritz—fizzy, floral, and refreshing, like a breeze drifting off the river at dusk.

But the collection’s most theatrical offering is Tapajós. Served in a vibrant, hand-painted macaw parrot, it’s a visual spectacle before you even take a sip. Inside: Grey Goose Essence White Peach & Rosemary, Italicus, tarragon, and lime. The flavour is as elegant as its presentation—fresh, herbaceous, and citrus-led, heightening the already immersive atmosphere of the restaurant.

Welcome to a new era of cocktail storytelling. This is Amazónico London’s first major cocktail menu overhaul since opening, and it’s nothing short of a bold reimagining. Conceived by the magnificent Head of Bars Giannis Apostolopoulos, a true cocktail connoisseur, the collection is a tribute to the more than 1,100 tributaries that breathe life into the Amazon. Each drink balances exotic ingredients, premium spirits, and theatrical presentation—an ode to the rivers’ ecological and cultural significance.

Beyond the new creations, the menu also features six signature Amazónico classics beloved across the brand’s global outposts. These include the Sangria Blanca, infused with gin and tropical fruits; the Rainforest Old Fashioned, a sultry blend of rum and açaí; and Save the Jungle, Amazónico’s bold caipirinha twist featuring tamarillo.

With the Tributary Cocktail Collection, Amazónico hasn’t just crafted a new drink offering—they’ve charted a map through the beating heart of the Amazon. Each cocktail is a destination, each vessel a passage. Whether sipping from a carved stone cup or raising a seashell to the rainforest canopy, this isn’t simply a cocktail experience—it’s a deep dive into Latin America’s wild soul.
