Coinbase Unleashes Giant F1 Helmet Across London in High-Speed Grand Prix Takeover

Coinbase is putting the pedal to the metal in celebration of its high-octane partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team—by unleashing a giant, electric-blue racing helmet onto the streets of London. In a thrilling run-up to the British Grand Prix, this towering installation—nearly 10 feet tall—is touring the capital by crane lorry, making stops at iconic city landmarks before settling in Covent Garden on July 3rd for a full day of fan interaction.

This dramatic stunt isn’t just a photo op; it’s the centrepiece of a multi-day immersive campaign from Coinbase, designed to celebrate the collision of speed, technology, and community. At the Covent Garden showcase, fans can explore the striking helmet up close from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and shop an exclusive, limited-edition Coinbase x Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team merchandise drop. Expect everything from long sleeve shirts and racing caps to enamel pins, collectible sticker packs, and retro-chic jumpsuits that would make any pit crew jealous.

Coinbase’s creative takeover doesn’t stop there—London’s skyline will be dominated by a massive OOH campaign, including a bold takeover of the BFI IMAX at Waterloo Station, Europe’s largest digital canvas.

“We wanted to do something bold to capture the spirit of both brands—cutting-edge, futuristic, and fearless,” said Gary Sun, VP of Marketing at Coinbase. “This partnership is about celebrating innovation and engineering excellence—delivering unforgettable experiences that push the boundaries of what’s possible.”

The celebrations didn’t end there, Coinbase and the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team hosted an exclusive invite-only soirée at London’s UNIT Gallery. Designed to capture the thrill of race week and the cutting-edge spirit of both brands, the night brought together influencers, artists, and motorsport aficionados for a high-energy celebration at the intersection of speed and style.

Guests including Joe Onyuma, Tom Exton, Callum Mullin, Leo Mandella, Magnus Ronning, and Hana Martin were treated to a first look at the limited-edition Coinbase x Aston Martin Aramco F1™ merchandise collection. The drop features long sleeve shirts, racing caps, enamel pins, collectible sticker packs, and jumpsuits—plus ultra-rare mini-helmets signed by Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. The centrepiece of the night? A sneak preview of the giant 10-foot electric blue Coinbase race helmet, ahead of its public installation in Covent Garden on 3rd July.

Adding to the atmosphere, London-based artist Soldier created a live painting inspired by Coinbase’s signature blue hue, while the soundtrack was powered by DJ sets from BBC Radio 1’s Sarah Story and London’s own Mercedes Benson. Refreshments came courtesy of Rock Angel, Whispering Angel’s bold sister rosé from Château d’Esclans, bringing a refined edge to the night.

This high-profile activation follows Coinbase’s recent VASP registration in the UK, cementing its commitment to innovation and responsible crypto adoption. Whether you’re a motorsport fanatic or a Web3 enthusiast, Coinbase’s latest campaign ensures fans are firmly in pole position for the future of finance.
