Brunch, But Make It Italian

Forget limp lettuce and tired eggs benedict. At Eataly London, Sunday brunch has had a dramatic Italian makeover – think Nonna in party mode, feeding half the village – and you’re absolutely invited.

Eataly’s Italian Sunday Brunch is not so much a meal as it is a joyful, carb-strewn celebration of long, lazy weekends. Held every Sunday from 11:30am to 3pm at Pasta e Pizza’s Cucina del Mercato, it’s inspired by Italy’s beloved tradition of gathering the famiglia for a feast that stretches deep into the afternoon – and possibly into a nap.

The format? Buffet-style, but not the beige, lukewarm kind. This is a sprawling seven-station banquet where every dish feels like it was made with gusto, olive oil, and zero restraint.

So what’s on the table?

Let’s start where all good Italian meals do: with carbs. Expect a generous bakery spread groaning with fresh focaccia, pastries, and crusty loaves that beg for a smear of truffle butter or a swipe through olive oil. There’s a glorious selection of regional cheeses and cured meats that could easily tempt you to cancel all other plans.

Then come the hot dishes. And mamma mia, are they good. Think bite-sized portions of lasagna bubbling with béchamel and rich ragù, golden arancini that crunch with satisfaction, and trays of mini pizzas that emerge from the oven with puffed edges and molten middles. The melanzane alla parmigiana is a standout – silky aubergine layered with tomato and cheese that tastes like a hug in food form.

There’s also a dedicated egg station, for anyone still clinging to their brunch eggs, plus an antipasti table with seasonal salads and vegetable sides. And for those with a sweet tooth (or two), tiramisu and crunchy Italian biscuits await, alongside unlimited excuses to go back for seconds.

Drink-wise, you’re welcomed with your choice of freshly brewed Italian coffee or a glass of Prosecco. (No judgement if you lean sparkling over strong – it’s Sunday, after all.) At £35 per person, it’s generous, stylish, and refreshingly unpretentious.

This is brunch without the avocado, without the queues for flat whites, and without the lingering feeling that you’re meant to Instagram it instead of enjoy it. It’s brunch the Italian way – soulful, sociable, and just indulgent enough.

So grab your friends, your appetite, and a few hours to spare. At Eataly London, Sunday brunch isn’t just a meal. It’s a proper occasion.

Because as the Italians know better than anyone: a tavola non si invecchia – at the table, one does not grow old.
