In Beverly Hills, where glamour and creativity converge, The Beverly Hills Hotel is unveiling a new way to experience the city’s architectural soul. Introducing Building Dreams in Beverly Hills, an exclusive discovery tour that celebrates the visionary brilliance of the hotel’s beloved architect, Paul R. Williams — the trailblazing “architect to the stars” whose work helped define Hollywood’s golden age.
Curated exclusively for guests of The Beverly Hills Hotel, this private, expert-led tour invites travellers to explore the city’s most iconic architectural landmarks through a lens of storytelling, artistry, and legacy. The experience seamlessly intertwines Hollywood glamour and design innovation, paying homage to the man whose imagination shaped the legendary Pink Palace itself.

As the newest chapter in Dorchester Collection’s Legendary Artists Trails, Building Dreams in Beverly Hills focuses on architecture as art. Paul R. Williams, who designed the hotel’s grand 1940s expansion, left an indelible mark on its identity — from the majestic Crescent Wing and the Polo Lounge to the Fountain Coffee Room and the poolside cabanas. His romantic curves, graceful symmetry, and effortless sophistication continue to embody the timeless allure of Beverly Hills.
The adventure begins at The Beverly Hills Hotel, where guests are whisked away in a chauffeured car through the city’s most cinematic streets. Along the way, they’ll uncover Williams’ stylish residences, the historic Music Corporation of America building, and the elegant façades of Rodeo Drive’s designer boutiques. The journey also extends to modern icons such as Renzo Piano’s Academy Museum, tracing how architecture evolved from the golden age of Hollywood to the creative spirit of today.

Led by an expert architectural guide, the tour offers a lively, insightful dialogue filled with stories, secrets, and colourful anecdotes — the kind that even seasoned locals might never have heard. Each itinerary can be tailored to the traveller, whether a passionate architecture enthusiast eager to refine their knowledge or a curious explorer seeing Beverly Hills through fresh eyes.
“Building on the excitement of Dorchester Collection’s Legendary Artists Trails, we are delighted to announce this new chapter in the series which will allow guests to discover Beverly Hills through a brand new, fascinating lens of architecture and design,” says John Scanlon, General Manager of The Beverly Hills Hotel.

“We were inspired by Paul R. Williams’ struggle and success in making his indelible mark on Hollywood architecture — both here at our beloved ‘Pink Palace’ and beyond our doors, in homes created for stars like Lucille Ball, Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra. This wonderfully unique experience gives our guests the chance to discover the very fabric of Beverly Hills.”
The Building Dreams in Beverly Hills package includes a luxurious overnight stay in a junior suite, a three-hour private guided tour in a chauffeured car, and daily breakfast — all based on double occupancy. For those wishing to stay in the legend’s legacy, guests can also reserve the historic Paul R. Williams Suite. With its curved bar, mid-century design, and retro detailing preserved since 1948, the suite remains an ode to the architect’s timeless elegance.

Hotel guests not booking the full package may still join the tour for an additional charge, with advance notice required.
This new experience joins Dorchester Collection’s acclaimed Legendary Artists series, which already spans six bespoke expert-led tours in four world cities — celebrating artistic icons from Picasso and Monet in Paris to Barbara Hepworth in London, Lucio Fontana in Milan, and Caravaggio in Rome. Alongside Dubai’s Eyes on the Future, Building Dreams in Beverly Hills continues this global celebration of creative legacies that shaped art, architecture, and culture across continents.
