When Scent and Spirit Collide: Jo Loves Vodka at Oblix London

High above London, where the city softens into light and movement, Oblix is inviting guests to drink with intention. For a limited period this Valentine’s season, the restaurant partners with Jo Vodka for the brand’s first ever restaurant collaboration, an experience that explores the meeting point of scent, taste and memory.

Running from 13 February to 1 March, Love through the Senses draws from the creative instincts of Jo Malone. Known for her synaesthesia, the ability to experience senses simultaneously, Malone has long translated emotion into form. When Jo Vodka launched in 2025, it marked a shift from fragrance to spirits, transforming moods and memories into liquid expression. At Oblix, those ideas are elevated and expanded.

The collaboration centres on three bespoke cocktails, created with Oblix’s Global Head of Bars Eva Kovacikova. Each is anchored to one of Jo Vodka’s trio of expressions, designed to convey feeling rather than chase flavour trends.

Held Close is the most understated. Made with Jo Vodka 101 The Purist, it combines clarified pear, rue berry cordial and orange blossom. Clean and quietly expressive, it unfolds slowly, encouraging pause.

The First Spark introduces a lighter energy. Jo Vodka 102 The Bohemian is paired with clarified yuzu and grapefruit cordial, pink peppercorn syrup, vetiver liquor and a delicate foamer. A bergamot bubble released by the guest adds a fleeting moment of interaction, playful yet controlled.

After The Music closes the sequence on a softer note. Built on Jo Vodka 103 The Artist, the cocktail layers neroli with blackcurrant, hibiscus and jasmine, topped with champagne. As the ice melts, the drink evolves, revealing itself gradually rather than all at once.

Oblix enhances the experience with subtle sensory cues. A fine mist of orange blossom is sprayed tableside. Bubbles are popped by hand. Melting ice becomes part of the narrative. Each gesture is restrained, designed to deepen the moment without distraction.

Food plays an equally considered role. Head Chef Felix Petrucco has created a New York inspired Valentine’s menu across both sides of the restaurant. Oblix East offers a sharing style menu for the table, featuring tuna tartare with avocado and Sardinian bread, followed by grilled striploin with chipotle béarnaise. The menu is priced at £99 per person.

Oblix West presents a more structured three course experience, with dishes such as seared beef carpaccio with black truffle and mustard dressing, the signature pepper steak, and cedar black cod with pickled onion and jalapeño. Menus are £135 per person, rising to £195 for window seating. Each guest is welcomed with a glass of Piper Heidsieck Champagne and leaves with a single rose.

Rather than leaning into overt romance, Love through the Senses focuses on atmosphere and intimacy. Set against sweeping skyline views, it feels deliberate and fleeting, a collaboration where scent becomes spirit, and drinking becomes something closer to remembering.
