A Stay at Rixos The Palm, Dubai

After a three night stay at Rixos Premium Dubai in Jumeirah Beach Residence, I made my way to Rixos The Palm which is located on the easternmost tip of the Palm Jumeirah Crescent – one of the city’s most prestigious addresses.

Rixos Premium Dubai had certainly set the bar high, but Rixos The Palm did not disappoint.

As I walked into the entrance of the hotel, my eyes were immediately met by a display of more than a hundred hydrangeas. Things were off to a good start.

First things first: we checked into our suite. I pressed the key card against the door and waited patiently while it made its whirring unlocking sound. What lay beyond the door exceeded my expectations. Well, that might be quite the understatement.

The suite had four balconies, each of which offered a different panoramic view. On one side, the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah steals the show. It’s acclaimed to be the world’s only seven-star hotel and is built on its very own artificial island off Jumeirah Beach. While on the other side, our suite overlooked the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf and the twinkling skyline of Dubai Marina.

We wanted for nothing in our suite. We felt right at home with a separated lounge area, a walk-in wardrobe, and a large master bedroom with an en-suite complete with freestanding bath tub, walk-in rain shower, and double vanity unit. Not forgetting the Molton Brown toiletries, too.

Guests are spoiled for choice at Rixos The Palm. There are six restaurants, five bars, a spa, a state of the art gym as well as an outdoor jungle gym on the beach, and a kid’s club. There are also two swimming pools and a splash park for little ones, and a 1km stretch of private sandy beach overlooking the impressive skyscrapers of Dubai Marina and beyond.

During our three night stay, we spent our evenings wining and dining at L’Olivo Ristorante, Bodrum Restaurant, and Toro Loco Steakhouse. All three restaurants are available to outside guests, too.

L’Olivo Ristorante is oh so romantic. The restaurant itself is elegant and the Italian-inspired menu is arguably the best in the whole resort. There’s also a violinist playing her take on modern day favourites which adds a certain something to the experience.

Meanwhile, the Bodrum Restaurant is located on the beach and serves both seafood and Turkish favourites. It’s also open for lunch for those who’d prefer not to head to the buffet. Located beside it is the Bodrum Lounge which serves cocktails all-night long against the backdrop of the Dubai Marina skyline. There’s nightly live music at this spot, too.

Toro Loco Steakhouse is a popular Spanish meat joint located just outside the front of the main hotel. A special standout signature dish is their grilled pineapple dessert. It’s a theatrical presentation where a flaming pineapple is sliced table-side with a large knife – machete style. Something that is not to be missed.

Rixos The Palm also has two international buffet restaurants – Turqouise and A La Turca.

‘How does Rixos The Palm differ from Rixos Premium Dubai ?’, you might wonder. The biggest differentiator is the suitability for families. Children are very much welcomed at Rixos Premium, but Rixos The Palm goes above and beyond when it comes to catering for little ones. The hotel is considered to be one of the most family friendly resorts in all of Dubai, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s also the city’s only true all-inclusive hotel which makes it a top choice for families seeking a holiday without limits.

The Rixy Kids Club offers almost every activity you can think of. Beyond the usual crafts and water sports, children at Rixos The Palm are invited to paint outdoors on art easels and take part in cookery classes. There’s also a ‘Rixinema’ equipped with state of the art technology so kids can watch their favourite movies on the big screen, a Rixy Kids Carnival and even a Nap Room.

A stay at Rixos The Palm truly is a stay where you can switch off. No ask is too big or too small. You want for nothing, and this is true whether you’re a couple on a mini-moon or a family of six on a family holiday.
