This summer, one of our all-time favourite London restaurants, 34 Mayfair invites guests to journey into the vibrant spirit of Cuba with the launch of Café de Cuba, a stunning terrace takeover in collaboration with Ron Santiago de Cuba. From 14 July to 30 August, the restaurant’s South Audley Street terrace is transformed into a celebration of Cuban culture, blending the bold glamour of old Havana with the sophistication of modern Mayfair.
As guests step onto the terrace, they are immediately transported into a colorful, tropical world. The space is adorned with striking palm trees, a captivating flamingo installation, and an explosion of flowers that evoke the lively streets of Havana. Whether indulging in a leisurely lunch or sipping cocktails under the summer sun, Café de Cuba promises an unforgettable experience that lingers until sundown.
The culinary offerings at Café de Cuba are a true homage to Cuba’s rich flavors. The menu features indulgent dishes like the Salmon Tiradito with Smoked Pineapple & Lime Aguachile Dressing, complemented by Green Chilli & Plantain Crisps and the Slow-Cooked Heritage Short Rib with Mango & Chilli Salsa, served with Charred Lime & Rum BBQ Sauce. Each dish is infused with a sense of adventure and the vibrant essence of Cuban street food.
To complement the dishes, the expert bar team at 34 Mayfair has curated a bespoke cocktail menu that reflects the energy and rhythm of Havana itself. Guests can indulge in the Dirty Daiquiri made with Ron Santiago de Cuba Carta Blanca and 8yo, or enjoy the Modern Mojito, which combines Ron Santiago de Cuba with Green Chartreuse, clear mint cordial, and soda water.
For a true taste of Cuba, the Panamericano is an enticing blend of Ron Santiago de Cuba 8yo, Fino sherry, homemade cola, lime juice, and Angostura bitters, while the Old Cubano (£14.00) offers a more indulgent option with its burnt coffee infusion, French orange liqueur, and vanilla.
Adding to the allure, live Cuban music fills the air every Thursday evening from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. A talented Cuban trio brings sultry rhythms and captivating melodies to South Audley Street, setting the perfect backdrop for a vibrant evening at Café de Cuba.
In addition to the regular offerings, a unique experience awaits between 14 and 16 August, when 34 Mayfair hosts a special pop-up from Barcelona’s famed Especiarium bar. For three nights, the Upstairs bar will be overtaken by Especiarium’s renowned expertise, offering bespoke cocktails inspired by the spice trade route, which shaped both Spanish and Latin culture.
Café de Cuba is the perfect summer destination for those seeking an authentic Havana experience in the heart of Mayfair.
