When the Stars Align
In the depths of night, when the sky burns with orange bursts of light and the world turns inward, CHANEL looks to the stars. There, amid the infinite hush of the cosmos, the spirit of Gabrielle Chanel lingers a woman who once trusted the heavens to guide her fate. “I wanted to cover women in constellations,” she once said. Superstitious, visionary, and instinctively modern, she read her destiny not in cards but in light.
This festive season, the CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio, in collaboration with Cécile Paravina, a member of the Comètes Collective invites us to gaze upward once more. Together, they create Holiday 2025: Winter Constellation, a universe suspended between darkness and brilliance, restraint and extravagance. Inspired by the grandeur of the night sky, the collection celebrates the beauty of endings and the promise of rebirth a luminous ritual for a year drawing to a close, only to be born anew.
Orbiting within this celestial universe are five of Mademoiselle Chanel’s cherished talismans: the lion, the camellia, the comet, the wheat, and the pearl. These emblems, each drawn from moments of her own mythology, now return as radiant symbols of power, grace, destiny, prosperity, and light. They gleam across the surface of the collection, linking past and present through the quiet language of stars.
At the heart of the makeup collection, Les Signes de Chanel captures this celestial geometry through duos of blush and highlighter powders. Each compact is embossed with the House’s five astral symbols, transforming makeup into a ritual of radiance. Rose Lumière reveals the tender luminosity of dawn with a soft bluish pink blush paired with a pearly white pink highlighter. Pêche Lumière, warm and sunlit, evokes the glow of sunset with orangewood hues enhanced by a veil of pearly gold. The powders melt into the skin like soft starlight, creating a luminous reflection that feels both intimate and infinite.
For the eyes, CHANEL Beauty reimagines the iconic Les 4 Ombres as Nuit Astrale, an exclusive palette of cosmic tones that evoke the beauty of a midnight sky. A matte bluish grey, a deep shimmery purple silver, a satiny lavender, and a glimmering aqua blue highlighter create a harmony that feels alive celestial shades designed to be layered, blended, and transformed. The gaze, intensified by shadow and light, becomes magnetic.
Adding a daring touch, two new shades of Liner de Chanel Flamboyant and Écarlate trace molten lines of metalled orange and vivid red along the lash line, like the trail of a shooting star. The exploration of contrast continues with Noir Allure, a dark bluish-grey mascara that deepens and defines, its shade recalling the indigo edge of dawn. Together, they create eyes that command and mesmerise luminous yet untamed, like the night itself.
The lips, too, join this dance of light. Reimagined for the season, Rouge Allure Velvet dresses the mouth in luminous matte colour, its second-skin texture as soft as cosmic dust. The iconic case, bearing a double C, holds two shades designed to embody modern duality: Abstrait, an intense rosewood of quiet magnetism, and Rouge Vie, a redwood alive with sensual warmth. For those drawn to a glossier finish, Rouge Allure Laque introduces Incandescent a pearly pink-blue magenta inspired by the fiery path of meteors and Nébuleuse, a pearly crimson purple echoing the hypnotic hues of distant nebulae. Each shade feels alive with movement, as if charged by the same energy that fuels the stars.
Completing this cosmic vision, Le Vernis transforms the fingertips into miniature galaxies. Cosmique, a slate blue lacquer, reflects the quiet brilliance of the night sky, while Alchimiste, a metallized orange, glows with the molten light of creation. Together, they encapsulate the spirit of CHANEL Beauty the meeting of art and alchemy, of matter and dream.
Extending this luminous vision beyond colour, the Holiday 2025 fragrance and body collection turns scent into starlight. N°5 The White Gold Body Oil bathes the skin in a pearly veil infused with the sensual floral abstraction of the House’s most iconic fragrance, its shimmer reminiscent of moonlight in motion. Coco Mademoiselle Pearly Body Oil awakens the senses with the fresh amber of orange, jasmine, rose, and patchouli an olfactory radiance that feels both warm and infinite.
The legendary CHANEL Beauty fragrances N°5, Coco Mademoiselle, Chance Eau Splendide, Bleu de Chanel, and Allure Homme Sport are reborn for the season, each sheathed in celestial sleeves of pearly white or deep blue, dusted with gold and silver. Together, they form a galaxy of scent, a constellation of identity and memory.
