Because “someday your afternoon tea dreams come true…”
If ever there were an afternoon tea to make your inner child squeal with delight, this is it. The London Hilton on Park Lane has teamed up with Disney to create a Disney Princess Afternoon Tea fit for royalty… and yes, it certainly ticks the magical checklist.
Situated inside the Park Corner Brasserie, overlooking the picturesque Hyde Park in all its autumnal glory, the experience begins before you’ve even taken your seat. A Cinderella statue greets you at the entrance (cue the first of many photo opportunities), while Belle stands inside the brasserie, watching over guests.
The theme has been carried through with true Disney-level imagination. Each stage of the tea has been designed with storytelling in mind, from the themed-sandwiches to the showstopping sweet treats.
First up, the savouries. Presentation is a star feature here: The Bayou Sandwich, inspired by Prince Naveen, features roast beef, crisp lettuce, and mayonnaise. The standout for us? Gus’s Favourite Cheese Wedge-Shaped Sandwich (“Don’t forget to warn him about the cat!”) – a fun nod to Cinderella’s mischievous mouse friend, filled with cream cheese and sweet onion marmalade.
The sweet course begins with a true Instagram moment, the rose from Beauty and the Beast, no less. Arriving beneath a glass dome that lifts to reveal a blast of rose-scented smoke, the dessert is seriously moreish and filled with chocolate and a raspberry jam centre.
Just when you think it can’t get any cuter, out comes the cake stand, or rather, a princess-style chest of drawers. Each drawer reveals a new layer of indulgent treats: warm, fluffy scones (some dusted with raspberry sugar and adorned with a princess tiara inside, naturally), alongside a generous serving of strawberry jam and clotted cream.
The top drawer reveals the sweet parade and prepare your iPhone, because this is the big cake reveal. The pastry team has clearly gone all out, creating desserts that look straight out of a storybook. Highlights include the “Under the Sea” macaron, inspired by Ariel from The Little Mermaid, aka a sparkly seashell with lemon ganache “pearls” that taste as good as they look. The “Apple of Your Eye”, a shiny red, apple-shaped cinnamon mousse with an oozy apple centre and shortbread crunch – is Snow White perfection.
And just when you think the show’s over, there’s one final surprise: a glass slipper perched on top of a royal cushion, filled with chocolate truffles. It’s theatrical and over the top, exactly how an afternoon tea inspired by Disney princesses should be.
Before you leave, guests are invited to cast their vote on a royal card for their favourite dish, officially becoming “Princess Consultants and Taste Testers” (yes, even the adults too). And the cherry on top? You’re handed a Princess Certificate to take home, proof that you’ve dined like Disney royalty, and we couldn’t agree more – it’s fun, interactive, and the attention to detail goes above and beyond.
Adults: £70 | Children: £45
