Mildreds has long been a standout in London’s plant-based dining scene, a vibrant, flavour-packed celebration of vegan food that appeals to herbivores and omnivores alike. Known for its bold global flavours, welcoming vibe, and creative cocktails, it’s the kind of place where you leave already thinking about your next visit.
Now, the Soho branch is injecting even more energy into lunchtime with the launch of its Lunch Box to Go, served directly from the window hatch on Lexington Street.
Available Monday to Friday from 12–2pm, these colourful, nourishing boxes are freshly made each morning and designed for life on the move, whether you’re grabbing a bite for a picnic in Soho Square or powering through lunch at your desk.
For just £12, you can choose from three supercharged salads plus a selection of soft drinks like Dalston Peach or Pimento Ginger Beer, all packed with plants and easy on the wallet. Each dish bursts with creativity and colour:
- Rainbow Connection is a fresh, crunchy slaw featuring beetroot, carrot, daikon pickle, and more, served with sesame soba noodles and a rich peanut satay dip.
- Run the Jewels combines quinoa and pomegranate in a zingy lemon cherry harissa dressing, with creamy hummus and warm pita on the side.
- All That Green brings the fire, with sweet potato, spicy jalapeño, crunchy veg, chilli lime dressing, spiced seeds, and an avocado pea smash with tortilla chips.
Beyond the new lunch offering, Mildreds’ main menu continues to shine with dishes that truly stand out. The cherry harissa patatas bravas are a fiery, flavour-packed twist on a classic, while the charred aubergine bharta is smoky, comforting, and deeply satisfying. We loved the Diosa Verde salad, a fresh and vibrant bowl that delivers on both nutrition and taste.
A particular highlight was the Sunday roast, featuring a chick+n, leek, and sweet potato lattice that felt indulgent and hearty, everything you want from a roast, minus the meat.
And finally, the white chocolate tiramisu was the ultimate showstopper: creamy, dreamy, and just the right amount of sweet. The perfect ending to a plant-based feast.
Mildreds continues to prove that vegan food doesn’t need to play it safe. Whether you’re dining in, grabbing a quick bite, or indulging in dessert, this is plant-based dining at its most exciting and satisfying.
