In Monte-Carlo, the festive season unfurls like a celestial tapestry of light, music and winter enchantment. At the heart of this transformation stands Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, guardian of some of the most glorious hotels and spectacular restaurants in the world. Each year, the group elevates the Principality into a shimmering kingdom of celebration. This year, the magic began on 29th November, when the Christmas lights of the Place du Casino were ceremoniously unveiled.
The moment the first golden glow illuminates the square, Monte-Carlo slips into a dreamscape, a musical Christmas reverie that continues until 6th January 2026, weaving wonder for all ages.
A Forest of Snow Globes and a Towering Christmas Tree of Dreams
This season, the beloved giant snow globes return for their final, most memorable chapter. Enormous crystal spheres encircle the iconic 20-metre Christmas tree, transforming the Place du Casino into a living theatre of winter fantasy.
The year’s theme, The Monte-Carlo Christmas Magic, brings five entirely new and beautifully choreographed scenes to life: The Enchanted Ballet, The Christmas Choir, The Reindeer Tea Time, Christmas Sky, and Midnight. Each tableau glimmers to the sound of timeless festive melodies, creating the sensation of stepping inside a snow-kissed storybook.
Children are invited to wander through the narrative, following the charming reindeer characters, Flocon, Rose, Hercule, Stella and the beloved Rudolph, as they dance through each globe’s illuminated world.
And on the 20th, 21st, 24th and 25th December, Santa Claus himself arrives with his choir, radiating warmth and wonder from 1pm – 5pm.
As night falls, the façade of the Casino de Monte-Carlo transforms. A whimsical light-and-sound show plays every 30 minutes from 6pm to 10pm, with the reindeer brought to life in luminous animations that pirouette across the architecture. Weekends throughout December — and every evening during school holidays — promise a spectacle worthy of Monte-Carlo’s legendary glamour.
A Festive Promenade through the Riviera’s Most Elegant Quarter
From the Place du Casino, the enchantment flows outward like a ribbon of light — down Avenue des Beaux-Arts, along Allée François Blanc, and through the refined world of One Monte-Carlo. Boutiques sparkle with couture displays and remain open daily through December (excluding Christmas Day), offering guests the finest luxury shopping by fairy-lit pathways.
Traditional Christmas chalets return to Avenue de Monte-Carlo until the 4th January, brimming with festive decorations, artisan delights and gourmet treats. The scent of cinnamon, warm sugar and pine lingers in the air from morning until early evening.
Across the Resort’s legendary hotels, artful seasonal installations appear in collaboration with prestigious Maisons — from the glorious Chopard-adorned tree at Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo to Marco Traverso’s sculptural creation at Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, to a constellation of musical boxes at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Each hotel — an icon in its own right — becomes a gallery of festive splendour.
