In an inspired fusion of aviation and nautical luxury, Flexjet, a global pioneer in private aviation, has unveiled Riva Volare — an exclusive aircraft interior design created in partnership with yachting legend Ferretti Group. Drawing on the timeless elegance of Riva’s iconic motoryachts, Riva Volare brings the signature style of the sea to the skies.
This bespoke design concept is the first tangible result of the official partnership between Flexjet and Ferretti Group, announced in May 2024. The collaboration reflects the shared values of both brands: exceptional craftsmanship, sleek performance, and a passion for bold, design-led travel experiences.
The Riva Volare interior is part of Flexjet’s signature LXi Cabin Collection™ and debuts aboard one of the company’s Gulfstream G650 aircraft — an ultra-long-range jet that seats up to 15 passengers and connects global cities such as New York and Tokyo, London and Singapore, or Milan and Los Angeles with ease.
The design also extends to two of Flexjet’s Sikorsky S-76 helicopters: one based in Florida and the other stationed in Milan as part of a new European helicopter operation serving Italy and the French Riviera. The expansion marks a strategic move into mainland Europe, complementing Flexjet’s existing helicopter services in London, New York, Florida, and The Bahamas. Ferretti Group clients will enjoy preferential access to these flights, enhancing their luxury travel experience across air and sea.
The Riva Volare design was officially revealed on June 26 at Milano Prime Linate Airport, with a glamorous showcase of the Gulfstream G650, Sikorsky S-76, and a Riva Aquariva Special yacht on display. The event was hosted in a newly constructed hangar by SEA Prime — Italy’s premier business aviation infrastructure provider — for Sirio, Flexjet’s sister company specialising in aircraft management and maintenance.
The Riva Volare interior is the result of months of collaboration between the in-house design teams of both brands, marrying iconic Riva elements with aviation innovation. Inspired by the 1960s Aquarama and the contemporary Aquariva, the design features:
- Handstitched leather seating in Riva’s signature aquamarine piping, with embroidered Riva insignia.
- High-gloss, striped wood veneer paneling reminiscent of yacht interiors.
- Nautical-striped pop-up kibitzer seating, exclusive to the Gulfstream G650.
- Riva’s distinctive ‘Blu Sera’ and aquamarine tones, paired with polished metallic accents.
- A silken carpet designed to evoke the motion of a yacht gliding through water.
Onboard service also embraces the Riva aesthetic, with curated Riva-branded glassware, china, and silverware presented by Flexjet’s Red Label-trained cabin servers.
Flexjet Chairman Kenn Ricci said, “I have long admired the iconic style of Riva, and seeing this brought to life in our aircraft is nothing short of exceptional. At Flexjet, design is integral to the elevated experience we offer. With Riva Volare, we’re not just honouring a design icon — we’re defining what it means to be a modern luxury brand.”
Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group, added, “Riva style is an expression of elegance, and now it flies. Riva Volare is a splendid result of our collaboration with Flexjet — a brand that shares our commitment to continually raising the bar. Contemplating the clouds while immersed in Riva’s world is a truly exquisite experience.”
