adidas by Stella McCartney Unveils FW21 STELLASHINE Drop

adidas by Stella McCartney reveals its latest drop, STELLASHINE, reimagining workout wardrobe staples with new metallic performance fabrics including shades of copper, hazy rose and striking silver, all made in part with partially recycled materials.

A collaboration that continues to push the boundaries of more sustainable style, the sports-luxe pieces include a black and silver iridescent zebra print crop and matching tight, complete with AEROREADY technology to manage body moisture and keep athletes feeling dry and in the zone. The oversized and lightweight TruePace metallic running jacket is available in energetic shades of silver and rose, and can be seamlessly transitioned from workout to a statement, streetwear look. The jacket is also crafted with 100% recycled polyester.

The hero footwear silhouette, the adidas by Stella McCartney ULTRABOOST 21 launches for the first time in a unique high-shine silver finish that is accentuated under both sunlight and streetlight. A perfect mix of style and functionality, the high-performance footwear features a responsive BOOST midsole and is made with PRIMEGREEN: a series of high-performance recycled materials featuring an upper made with 50% recycled content.

Dedicated to elevating next-gen creatives and activists, the FW21 campaign platform was handed over to roller-skater and founder of Jam Skate Club, Oumi Janta, alongside model and artist, Anuthida Ploypetc. Both showcase the fun and elevated workout pieces against the backdrop of Berlin during the day and at night. Celebrating all types of motion from roller-skating to running, the campaign highlights the versatility of the performance pieces and the shining energy of the collection as the cast harness the benefits of movement for both mind and body.

Bringing this all together through art is renowned contemporary London based visual artist, Jazz Grant who creates entirely hand-cut work that champions the Black community and evokes raw emotion, stitching together themes of both protest and joy. For STELLASHINE, Jazz worked with the photographer to develop ideas and concepts, focusing on colour distortions and textures amongst sharp body shots. She then printed the imagery and used her signature method to create unique collages and layered montages, capturing the energy and movement of Oumi and Anuthida.

Speaking about the campaign and collection, Stella McCartney said: “When crafting this collection, we wanted to provide next-gen changemakers with the opportunity to express themselves in bold looks that not only fuse high-fashion and performance, but use adidas’ material innovations like PRIMEGREEN, a series of high-performance recycled materials. Sport and movement can take many forms and we wanted to create looks that deliver whatever the need, from studio-to-street.

It’s so exciting to give activists at the forefront of art and culture another platform to share their work. Oumi and Anuthida made the perfect cast to celebrate the expressive nature of this collection, whilst Jazz brings this all together through her unique hand-cut visuals that perfectly capture the vibrancy, creativity and personality of the next-generation changemakers.

The drop features some really fun and unique pieces, with new prints and shades that push the boundaries of what more sustainable style looks like. We hope this collection helps to inspire our community to act with purpose as they move through sport and life”

Key pieces from the drop include:

  • TRUEPACE METALLIC RUNNING JACKET: Available in vibrant shades of rose and silver, this light-weight jacket can be easily incorporated into everyday wardrobes, thanks to its sleek oversized silhouette and shiny finish. The crop features AEROREADY technology, innovatively designed to keep the athlete feeling dry and in the zone.
  • SHINY TRAINING TIGHTS: Providing the perfect midpoint between functionality and style, these flattering high-fashion and performance tights have been designed to smooth the core and stay in place during all workouts – from HIIT to running and Pilates. As part of the Watch Us Move campaign launched earlier this year to celebrate and support all women and create a more inclusive space in sport, adidas by Stella McCartney continues to elevate creators and activists – like Oumi, Anuthida and Jazz, who as individuals challenge societal barriers and perceptions through their own beliefs and actions. Each STELLASHINE collaborator breaks the mould and inspires their community by driving positive change.

The STELLASHINE collection is available now on adidas.co.uk/training and via the adidas app.
