BASES WITH BENEFITS

Good skin has always been in, and achieving a healthy lit-from-within glow has never been easier thanks to a new breed of luxury make-up bases. With all the skin-perfecting benefits of regular foundations, they are formulated with nourishing ingredients in normally-seen-in-skincare textures to help feed as well as fake your glow. Here are 3 of our favourites:

THE BALM
Kevyn Aucoin The Foundation Balm

I don’t know about you, but whenever the word ‘balm’ appears on any beauty packaging, I’m already sold. So when I heard that my favourite rich and creamy texture comes in the form of foundation, I was eager to try. Blended with super hydrating hyaluronic acid, the ultra-light but high-coverage texture is buildable so you can give your individual skin all the coverage it needs while treating it to a shot of glow-giving nourishment too.

THE OIL
Kosas Tinted Face Oil

Part oil, part foundation, this product is one of the easiest bases to use.
Formulated with skin-breathing mineral pigments and skin-feeding botanical oils, the unique formula helps to speed up application time and make it a much more enjoyable experience. A great one to buy if you hate the feeling of a heavy base and love a sheer, dewy finish.

THE SERUM
The Ordinary Serum Foundation

If you’re looking for a foundation that doesn’t settle into fine lines then serum is perfect for you. This cult foundation has a semi-matte coverage which is surprisingly full for such a lightweight texture. It’s perfect if you don’t like the heavy feeling of foundation but still need lots of pigment to banish flaws and any signs of tiredness. Being loaded with SPF15, it offers physical sun protection too.
