Profhilo at Thérapie Clinic

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is currently one of the most popular skincare treatments on the market right now. This breakthrough skin rejuvenation is the first injectable Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based product designed to hydrate and treat skin laxity.

Unlike traditional fillers, Profhilo draws and holds water from your body to improve skin elasticity. It also stimulates collagen production. Think hydration from the inside out. I was invited to Thérapie Clinic in Kingston-Upon-Thames to try the treatment out for myself.

Who should get it?

If you’re bothered by tired, dull-looking skin or signs of ageing, Profhilo might be for you. Dubbed an injectable moisturiser, its hydrating properties are ideal for transforming lacklustre skin into a more radiant complexion. Whether you’ve got a big event coming up or a holiday, Profhilo is the perfect prep for radiant skin.

What happens during the treatment?

After a short consultation with my Thérapie Clinic doctor, numbing cream was applied to my face for five minutes. This is to help minimise any discomfort. Next, a serum was injected just below the skin’s surface. Expect five injections to key areas on each side of your lower face — to your cheeks, chin, and jawline. The procedure takes just five minutes and the serum then spreads evenly across the face over a few weeks.

Does it hurt?

It’s natural to worry about pain when it comes to injections. It’s different for everyone, but for me, I felt a stinging sensation in some areas of my face but it’s over very quickly.

Is there any downtime?

You should avoid working out and wearing makeup for the rest of the day that you get the treatment. After my first session, I didn’t notice anything and could go about my day. After my second, I had a few small bruises on one of my cheeks. These didn’t hurt, were easily covered up with concealer and disappeared after a few days.

How many sessions do you need?

I noticed results just a few weeks after my first treatment, but for best results, it’s recommended that you have two sessions, spaced four weeks apart.

How long does Profhilo last?

Around six months.

What results can you expect?

Six weeks on from my first treatment at Thérapie Clinic, the results for me are subtle but noticeable. I’ve got a plump and glowy look that my friends and colleagues have commented on. A smoother skin texture means my makeup applies better and my skin generally looks tighter, lifted and more radiant.

Treatment prices start from £259 per session.
