Searcys Champagne Bar at Battersea Power Station

Ever since the doors opened at Searcys Champagne Bar in the heart of Battersea Power Station, the popping hasn’t shown any signs of stopping. Brace yourself for a menu that boasts an effusion of bubbles and English sparkling wine, each expertly paired with British seafood and delicious sharing platters.

Nestled within the 1930s Art Deco Turbine Hall A, ensconced within the iconic Grade II listed Power Station, the new Searcys Champagne Bar is an oasis for a myriad of occasions. Be it to rest your feet after a day of retail therapy or an intimate tête-à-tête, Searcys offers an expansive collection of Champagne and sparkling wine, available by the glass, bottle or, if you’re going all out, magnum.

In true Searcys style, the interior is rich and beautiful; plush velvet seating in royal blue, marble tabletops and stunning artwork from the esteemed artist Kristjana S. Williams. Grab a seat at the bar where you can watch oysters being shucked and cocktails carefully concocted.

The menu offers an expertly curated selection, spanning Champagne Grandes Marques, Demi Secs, and Vintages, alongside bottles from boutique growers and Searcys’ exclusive Cuvées. The big names include Krug, Laurent Perrier, Pol Roger and Taittinger, as well as a list of English sparkling wines. Try the Chapel Down Classic Brut, all the way from The Garden of England.

Fancy a cocktail? Mixologists stand ready to craft classic Champagne cocktails with a modern twist. There is the 1847 Old Cuban with Searcys Golden Blend, lime juice, Angostura bitters, mint, sugar and Searcys Selected Cuvée or the (interesting but highly enjoyable) Negroni Sbagliato, with added Searcys Selected Cuvée.

Gastronomic highlights include fat, juicy Colchester Rock and Native oysters paired with mignonette sauce and, in my case, lashings of Tabasco, Searcys’ signature Smoked salmon with a gorgeous horseradish cream and a British charcuterie board boasting an array of perfectly cured and smoked meats.

Situated on Level 1 within the Power Station, adjacent to the unique chimney lift experience known as “Lift 109,” the Champagne Bar also hosts an array of masterclasses, immersive experiences, private events and, of course, parties. After all, too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right.
