12 gorgeous beauty launches you need this summer

With a new beauty product launching almost every day, it can be a little overwhelming to keep up sometimes. There are some exciting makeup, fragrance, skin and hair products hitting the shelves at the moment – with skincare innovations, wonder ingredients and glow-getting makeup formulas. We’re only halfway through the year but 2020 has been a big one for beauty already.

Whether you’re looking for hydrated, glossy locks or sun-kissed healthy skin, summer is the perfect time to give your beauty bag a shake-up and add some new staples to your collection. With this in mind, we’ve tried and tested some of the incredible products that have launched recently and put together our twelve favourite beauty buys that you won’t want to miss.

Marc Jacobs Beauty At Lash’d
There’s been a lot of hype around this new launch from Marc Jacobs, and we can see why. Joining cult Velvet Noir, this new mascara had pretty big boots to fill – but does so with perfection. With its iconic gold and black striped packing, At Lash’d boasts it all: it’s lengthening (oh so lengthening), curling, volumising, conditioning and lightweight so you can build it up without clumps. The wavy wand catches every single lash, and you don’t need to worry about smudges or flakes; the long-lasting formula stays put all day. We’re in love with a mascara.

Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo by La Double J Shower Mousse
In an exciting collaboration between Acqua di Parma and La Double J, this beautiful Blu Mediterraneo range has been born. We’re obsessed with the packaging, a playful print in vibrant blue and yellow. Delivering Italian summer to your home, the collection includes three new formulas in the delicious scents of Arancia di Capri, Fico di Amalfi & Mirto di Panarea: a luxurious Shower Mousse, nourishing Body Lotion and gentle Body Scrub. They’ve also created an Arancia di Capri candle that smells divine.

Living Proof The Mask Collection
During lockdown, face and hair masks have become an integral part of our routines. Hair treatments are a fantastically quick and easy way to nourish locks and achieve a ‘just-been-to-the-salon’ look at home. The hair gurus at Living Proof have launched not one, not two, but three incredible silicone-free masks, targeting dryness, frizz and damage. Apply a dollop of the mask once or twice a week in place of conditioner for soft silky hair that looks and feels healthier. The unique formula in each mask protects strands, strengthens and seals cuticles and lubricates fibres. Since we’ve been using them, our hair-wash days have halved. too.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum
It’s not every day that you add a skincare product into your routine and see almost immediate results. But with this new gentle serum from Ole Henriksen, we found just that. Within a week of using it, there was a visible improvement in skin brightness. With a blend of 15% vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and 5% PHAs (polyhydroxy acids), the formula is hydrating, antioxidant and smoothing, as well as giving skin an instant glow. If you don’t like bananas, don’t be put off by the name – this refers to banana powder-inspired pigments that help with colour correction and illumination.

CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream
The iconic CHANEL Soleil Tan Bronzer has had a makeover and, believe it or not, is even better than it was before. Apart from a new name and some minor tweaks to the packaging (a cream symbol on the lid instead of gold and a new box), the relaunch looks almost identical. But inside the chic frosted glass pot is a slightly tweaked formula – with a marginally warmer, more rustic tone, a new florally scent and the addition of hydrating coconut oil. The buildable cream-gel bronzer applies smoothly and still gives that gorgeous sun-kissed glow.

L’Occitane Meli Melon Delicious Lip Scrub
You know when something smells so good, you just want to eat it? L’Occitane’s fruity lip scrubs are pretty hard to resist. The newest flavour, Sweet Melon, is juicy and summery. Apply a little bit of the crystallised formula to your lips and massage to gently exfoliate dead skin cells. Before you have time to lick it off, rinse with warm water. Made with melon from Provence, pomelo, carrot and pomegranate oils, and enriched with Vitamin E, your lips will feel softer, smoother and hydrated.

Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Face
Looking to re-create a healthy, post-holiday glow? This Kevyn Aucoin liquid illuminator will give your skin a gloss-like finish. With three new shades added to the range, the light-reflecting formula helps to achieve a hydrated appearance, just like that evening glow you get on holiday after a day of sun and sea. With 10% lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) to boost cell turnover, this launch from Biossance can help revive dull, lacklustre skin. The vegan and cruelty-free brand uses ethically, sustainably sourced squalane in every product which hydrates and heals. Gentle enough to use every night, massage a pump or two of serum into your face and neck before moisturising for brighter, smoother skin that gives off the type of glow you get after a facial.

The Body Shop Pear Bath Blend
Wonky fruit and veg that would usually go to waste is being put to good use in this new Bath Blend range from The Body Shop. There are four blends to pick from but our favourite is the crisp pear foam, with extract from bumpy pears, kiwi seed oil and kale extract, plus organic aloe vera and sesame seed oil. The bubbly formula, that leaves skin feeling hydrated and the bathroom smelling great, is packaged in 50% post-consumer recycled plastic.
