This June, Annabel’s opens the door to summer with a collaboration as romantic as the season itself. In partnership with de Gournay, the celebrated house of hand-painted wallpapers and hand-embroidered wallcoverings, the private members’ club unveils An English Summer Garden, a verdant, decorative reverie in the heart of Mayfair.
With The Garden taking centre stage, the collaboration conjures the feeling of an English summer at its most enchanting: petals unfurling in the warmth, leaves trembling in the light, tables dressed as though for a garden party in a dream. Launching today, Tuesday 2nd June, the Club’s Garden has been transformed into a beguiling interpretation of the season in full bloom, remaining in place throughout the summer months.

At the heart of the installation is de Gournay’s unmistakable artistry. Hand-painted wallpapers appear throughout The Garden, creating moments of lush, painterly focus and gently dissolving the boundary between interior decoration and the natural world. The effect is one of quiet theatre: an outdoor room dressed with the romance of a grand English house, where every detail seems touched by a brush, a breeze, or a passing sunbeam.
The collaboration extends across the entire setting. Menus bear de Gournay designs, while specially composed tablescapes bring a sense of ceremony to each table. Potted plants and abundant greenery add depth and softness, evoking the layered beauty of the English landscape. Botanical parasols and custom lampshades, each hand-painted by de Gournay, lend further charm, while Annabel’s seasonal uniforms have been reimagined with bespoke botanical accents.

Perrier-Jouët joins as the official champagne partner for the duration of the collaboration, bringing its own floral elegance to the Garden. Guests will be able to enjoy Grand Brut NV, Blason Rosé NV and Belle Epoque 2016 throughout the space. Inspired by the Maison’s distinctive floral notes and the poetry of the season, a bespoke Perrier-Jouët menu will also be available, adorned with the Maison’s iconic anemone motif. Completing the experience is a limited-edition Annabel’s Garden Spritz, created with Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut.
Rooted in a shared appreciation for decorative heritage, the partnership brings together de Gournay’s hand-painted world of flora, fauna and fantasy with Annabel’s famously layered approach to interiors. Together, they offer a contemporary ode to traditional craftsmanship, showing how historic techniques can be reimagined with lightness, wit and modern glamour.

Hannah Cecil Gurney, Director at de Gournay, commented: “We wanted to evoke the charm and romance of an English garden at the height of summer through this hand-painted installation.”
As one of London’s most recognisable interiors, Annabel’s has long placed design at the centre of its identity, creating spaces defined not merely by beauty, but by atmosphere. With An English Summer Garden, the Club invites guests into a world where art, nature and decoration bloom together; a summer fantasy of painted petals, champagne-filled glasses and Mayfair magic.
