Claridge’s Simon Rogan is the Future of Snacking

Snacking has become an essential part of any day for me. I have become so busy that I often don’t have a chance to prepare a proper meal and when I do buy snacks, I often buy crisps and chocolate. I’m ashamed to say that junk food is a huge part of my diet and Kettle Chips have become my biggest guilty pleasure. I know I’m not the only one, the snack industry is worth £3.2 billion in the UK alone.

I am also behind on the snack trends. I may be the only person in the world who hasn’t signed up to a graze box. I’m amazed by the creativity, everything is inspired by traditional snacks that are a little naughty, such as: Marvellous Macaron, Cookies & Cream or the Dark Chocolate Cherry Tart. All the ingredients are well thought out to help you maintain a somewhat healthy diet, on very little time.

If you thought that was exciting, this will absolutely blow your mind. Graze have just upped their game by collaborating with renowned Michelin starred chef, Simon Rogan, to develop a limited edition graze x Simon Rogan snack box.

Simon is a true culinary heavyweight and has developed a distinctive and inventive cooking style, inspired by his love of British homegrown ingredients. His enviable restaurant portfolio – from Cartmel’s world-famous L’Enclume, to The French at The Midland Hotel in Manchester, to Fera at Claridge’s in Mayfair, London, has provided the inspiration for the collaboration of Michelin starred flavours and techniques with graze’s passion and unrivalled snack expertise.

Graze x Simon Rogan snack boxes will include four exclusive recipes:

  • Grilled Salad: Cartmel-farmed cauliflower, kale, freeze-dried Isle of Mull cheddar, garlic, chilli and sunflower seeds
  • West Coast of Scotland Lobster and Horseradish Meringue: Lobster puffs, horseradish meringue, beetroot, apple and tarragon gel
  • Salt and Vinegar Corn-Fed Chicken Popcorn: Crispy chicken skin with salt and vinegar half popped corn
  • Mascarpone, raspberry and hazelnut biscuit: freeze-dried mascarpone, raspberry strings, pear, hand-picked sweet cicely and hazelnut biscuit

This may well be the future of snacking. Simon believes that people are becoming increasingly aware and selective of what they are eating and this extends to food on the go.

He tells me, “I think there is an appetite for more gourmet, interesting snacks – this is something graze are leading the market with so it’s great timing for the project. With this collaboration, we took inspiration from our menus across the different restaurants and brought together lots of ideas and combinations using the extensive catalogue of graze’s recipes.”

What is truly special about this limited edition Graze x Simon Rogan snack box, is that only 100 boxes will be made.
