Maya at The Hoxton Shoreditch

The Hoxton in Shoreditch has a new jewel in its crown. Soho House has brought the beloved Maya experience from the West Coast of California to the heart of East London.

Maya begun as a pop-up in Soho House in West Hollywood before settling down as a permanent LA restaurant before crossing the pond to London. Perched on the 7th floor of The Hoxton, it offers stunning views of the glittering city skyscrapers and a rather impressive sweeping sunset views too.

The menu is an homage to glorious Baja Mexican cuisine, made with local produce and an iconic guacamole cart which makes incredible table side guacamole.

Our waitress Mirella was a firecracker, passionate about the menu and ingredients. She gave such helpful suggestions and seemed genuinely thrilled to be there, we couldn’t have asked for more attentive service.

Order a stellar margarita or a Paloma which is fresh and intoxicating mix of Gran Centenario Plata tequila, Three Cent pink grapefruit sofa, lime and salt.

Start with the famous guacamole with tortilla chips and crudités, follow with the decadent mushroom quesadilla with cheddar, scallions and jalapeno.

For the main event, unmissable dishes include, the rib eye asado with grilled camotes is juicy, tender and bursting with flavour and the chicken tinga tacos with refried beans, avocado, pico de gallo.

For dessert, the churros with a rich chocolate sauce are the perfect sweet shareable treat. For a lighter choice, try the grilled pineapple which is served with coconut sorbet.

If you are looking for powerful margaritas and bold Mexican cuisine in a beautiful setting, look no further than Maya at The Hoxton Shoreditch.
