Her words and illustrations are lauded by over 3 million Instagram followers, including celebrities such as Emma Watson, Ariana Grande and Sam Smith, who even has a tattoo of one of Rupi’s illustrations: a human heart with flowers sprouting out of it.

Rupi has a gift of telling stories using ardent words, structured in a way that is an ode to her Punjabi heritage, it is so powerful they have struck a chord within all of our hearts. She focuses on themes such as love, heartbreak, gender dynamics, immigration, abuse, trauma, survival and healing.

Here, we include a few poems from her best-selling books: milk and honey and the sun and her flowers.
