Flying in Mint Condition with JetBlue

It’s safe to say that sitting cramped up in a small aisle with little to no legroom when flying long haul is the most dreaded part of any journey. That and the fact that the food is more often than not, unappetising. When you do the math, discomfort plus hunger equals a recipe for disaster.

In light of this, JetBlue launched the addition of the deluxe Mint experience to their transatlantic flights in 2021 and has brightened up the journey for passengers who opt for this premium class ever since.

The Mint experience is a hybrid between business and first (as it is the highest level of Jet Blue’s offering) and it is most definitely worth the price tag. Here’s all that you can look forward to…

Lie-flat beds:

Fancy a snooze on a night flight? The 1-2-1 individual suites have lie-flat seats built with Tuft & Needle’s T&N Adaptive® Foam cushions, a memory foam pillow and a customisable blanket.

Individual Suites:

The Mint suites offer plenty of personal space and storage compartments so you can organise your things and feel at home. Fitted with sliding doors for extra privacy, the suites guarantee a disruption-free journey.

For inflight entertainment, you can enjoy an extensive selection of free on-demand movies and shows, live TV², curated content, plus meditation and sleepscapes from Open on a large 17” TV. Wireless charging is available, along with adjustable lighting for those who would prefer to read, work or get some rest.

Upgraded cabin comforts include cosy slippers, Master & Dynamic’s MH40 noise-isolating headphones and a flight care package filled with an assortment of essentials tailored to your flight time & destination.

For me, the Misy Lumion Miracle Mist was perfect to combat my travel, morning face. It also stayed within arms reach for the entirety of my trip as it was just what I needed to regularly refresh my face in the tropical climate. They were definitely two steps ahead!

Food & Drink:

JetBlue has partnered with Delicious Hospitality Group to present NYC hotspots Charlie Bird, Pasquale Jones, and Legacy Records to the Mint experience, bringing crowd-pleasing dining experiences, sky-high. The menu consists of flavoursome rotating small plates, accompanied by a smooth custom playlist, the essence of fine dining.

The drinks menu is the real showstopper. You can opt for a glass from the international wine list featuring sparkling, white and red options. Or, sip on a speciality cocktail, shaken on board. I must say, the “Mint Condition” is essential to having the full Mint experience, but if you’re alcohol-free there’s no need to worry as there is a tried and tested Mint (Under One) Condition mocktail which I can confirm is equally as pleasing!

Committed to taking small businesses to new heights, Mint also has a varied selection of bottomless grab-and-go snacks to keep passengers to keep passengers from getting peckish.

The Mint name is very fitting for the experience and I definitely recommend it, did I mention that you can also speed through the airport with a dedicated Mint check-in queue and access to priority security, boarding and baggage reclaim? Can’t say no to that!
